How to Wear Handkerchief Scarf

Handkerchief is a pretty broad category when you’re talking about scarves. The term isn’t relegated to a piece of cloth you blow your nose in. In fact, some handkerchief pendant scarves made of silk, costing beaucoup dinero, are the last thing you want to soil cleaning out your nasal passages. A square scarf with a decorative border, a handkerchief scarf can be made from any number of fabrics and any color in the rainbow. There’s more than one way to wear it, too.
Stick them up.  Firstly, go for a “Bonnie and Clyde” style — Faye Dunaway was h-o-t in her bank robber chic in Arthur Penn’s 1967 film. Start the look by placing your scarf on a flat surface.
Then fold the scarf in half on the diagonal so it looks like a triangle.
Next is wrapping the scarf around your neck so the two sides of the triangle are hanging down your back and the top of the triangle is hanging down the front. Add a beret, tweed pencil skirt and killer eyeliner to match Bonnie’s 30 seconds style.
At last tie a lose knot with the two ends of the scarf. For a different look, put the knot down in front and off to the side; it’s more girl scout than bandit, but no less chic.
Fly the friendly skies method. At the first place, lay your scarf out flat on a table.  And then roll it up, lengthwise, on the diagonal starting with any one of the corners. If you follow, you’ll notice this looks suspiciously like the start of a stewardess silk scarf. You are correct. Uber feminine and a classic throw back to a bygone era, this is in any handkerchief scarf’s arsenal of looks.
In the end, wrap the rolled up scarf around your neck so the two ends are in front. Tie a knot and arrange it as you like.

What Does Argyle Scarf Look Like

No matter you’re preppy style or punk style, you will need a hit of argyle in your wardrobe. According to Oxford Dictionary, the knitted pattern consists of “colorful diamonds in solid and outline shapes on a single background color.” Wear this popular of pattern in cold months. A massy sweater seems too much for us, you could choose a charming argyle scarf to complement your outfit instead. Below is some ways to wear the argyle scarves for your reference.
Firstly, pair an argyle scarf with a simple wool or cashmere sweater. Choose a crew or v-neck style in one of the colors found in your silk scarf.
Secondly, slip your argyle scarf on with a corduroy jacket. Rather than wrapping it around your neck, rock it like a real dandy and lay it under your jacket’s collar.
Thirdly, Dress up a simple white button down and solid-colored cardigan with an argyle scarf. Just like with a corduroy jacket, pairing an argyle scarf with this combo will leave you looking oh-so Ivy League.
Fourthly, Use an argyle scarf to accent a punk rock ensemble. This bold pattern takes on a whole new persona when paired with ripped skinny jeans and a Sex Pistols tee.
At last, keep warm in the cold by pairing your wool argyle scarf or pendant scarf with a matching argyle hat and a down coat in a neutral tone.

Make Scarf Shoulder Sling Bag

A long and wide scarf is very common to see from our street stores to fashion movies. Therefore, you could always get your eyes caught by this kind silk scarf displayed. Fashion and stylish girls buy many scarves in different material, color and pattern, but there always is a time girls won’t like to buy one more and wanna to throw up some scarves they got. There is a way make you out of trouble to return back a scarf or let it just at lay in your wardrobe, this method will make double use of it. If this sewing is okay with, then make a big scarf into a shoulder sling bag.Prepare somethings before you do this, and have patience.
Raw material of a should sling bag. Regarding a appropriate size sling, you should have a scarf which is 5 feet long and 2 feet wide at least. You could make it in very simple way, or reinforce the middle of the scarf, bag part of the scarf by lining it with a rectangle of solid or distinctive fabric. Sew the lining to the scarf. Pick a colorful ribbon to make the handles, or a leather cord. You will need a few feet’s long to make you could hold it.
And then start to sewing it. First, extend the scarf up completely on flat surface or table. Fold it in half lengthwise, and make the crease smooth. Change the position of the scarf, let the fold at the bottom and the sides that come together at the top. You will want the straps to be about in three feet length. This way the bag will fall around your waist when it’s on your shoulder. If you’re using a 5-foot-long scarf, measure 18 inches from each end, and gather the fabric together at those two points. To make sure your bag will be big and useful, pull the top of the scarf, where the ends lie together, to make a taut line, still holding the bunched fabric in either hand. The bag’s bottom and the folded part should slip down. This will make it into the bag part of the shoulder sling bag you want.
Make out the straps. Tie one piece of ribbon or cord around over the gathered area, then weigh up again to be sure of an flat long from both end of the scarf. These end lengths will form your shoulder strap. Twist the scarf tightly from the point where you tied the ribbon and knot the end of the scarf, first on one side, then the other. Starting at the point where you tied it at 18 inches, wind the ribbon around the scarf without overlapping and continue toward the end for 4 inches, first on one side, then the other. Then knot and cut the ribbon. Untie the knots at the ends of the scarf, but don’t allow the twist to loosen. Tie the ends of the scarf together at a point that equals the midpoint of the bag section. This will be your shoulder strap, so it shouldn’t be longer than 3 feet. If your scarf is longer than 5 feet, tie it in the middle so the strap will be 3 feet long, and leave the ends dangling. You can cut them off, or leave them hanging as a decoration. Wrap the knot with ribbon or cord, without overlapping, beginning at the knot and working outward on either side for 6 inches. This part will be the strap’s connector that put on your shoulder.
Alterations and Ornaments. In order to make the strap more firm, you can tie the cord or ribbons around the entire strap. Use leftover ribbon or cord to decorate your bag, and add other embellishments if you want. If your scarf has a bright-colored pattern, you won’t need much additional decoration. If you want to be more stouthearted, you can cut each strap into three small sections and weave it and tie it together in the middle. Finally a scarf shoulder sling bag will be made, you can have a try now. Very looking forward your achievements on pendant scarves to bags.

Fix Snag in Scarf

Many clothes need our pretty much daily care, scarf is one of them. An annoying scarf snag can appear in suddenly, and then you are left with your favorite collocation with a gnarly pull. It happened not because the scarf is pretty shot or though, you should remember that don’t pick at the pull or you’ll make it worse.
What we written here will tell you how to deal with it. First fold up your scarf with pull inside, and try to figure it at home, most of scarves, this is the best way to keep it well. After you arrive at home, then do the follow ways to fix it up according to situation we faced accordingly.
1. Loosely Knits. Snag in your loose knitted winter scarf is easy to fix, a warming jewelry scarfmade of wool or other thick yarn always has a big knit pattern, and you can clearly saw the individual strands of yarn. This type of scarf doesn’t have a accurate front and back, so you can’t just pull the thread through to the other side. If the snag isn’t too severe, you can gently pull the scarf on either side of the snag to smooth it back into place. If it’s a big snag, use a crochet needle or even a bobby pin to pull it back into place by tugging on the stitches in the same row until the snag is gone.
2. Closely Knits. The tighter knits of cotton, cashmere or closely knit wool scarves give you a more complicated snag fix. For this repair, you can use a small crochet needle or a needle threader. Yes, a needle threader is a tool from back in the day when ladies sewed lots of their own clothes. Ask your grandma if she has one in her sewing kit, or stroll over to the fabric store to buy one. Its thin, diamond-shaped wire is attached to a little handle. Push the wire through the scarf to catch the snag and pull it back into place. You’ll need to pull the same piece of yarn into place in its row, again, if you don’t want a loop sticking out on the other side of your scarf.
3. Knitted Fabric. Thin cotton summer silk scarves won’t pull as easily as widely knit scarves, but they’re more likely to get a hole along with the pull. First, try smoothing the snag back out by tugging on either side. If that doesn’t work, you have a few other options. Depending where the pull is on the scarf, your best bet might be to disguise it. You can pull the thread back through with the needle threader or poke it through with the wide end of a sewing needle, tie it off in a knot and cut the excess. If there’s a small hole and it’s in an inconspicuous area that will be hidden, stitched it carefully.
4. Patterned Weaves. The most frustrating scarf snags happen on your patterned silk, pashmina or fine synthetic scarves. The snagged thread throws off the pattern, so you want to fix it right. These scarves are the most likely to have a definite front and back, though, so you may be in luck. Push a fine sewing needle and thread through the back of the scarf, catch the snag with the thread and use it to coax the snag back into place. If the pattern isn’t messed up too badly, pull the snag all the way through to the other side and tie it off.
All these ways we talked about is for your reference, maybe you can find out other ways. For the scarves, it’s kinda like a fabric. Sometime, you can use your imagination to make it more beautiful and attractive.
